UIL Calculator

The UIL Calculator competition has students solve a series of increasingly complex numeric calculations as quickly as possible. It also includes word problems and geometric problems that can be solved using a calculator. We practice speed and efficiency techniques for the calculator and work on the skills necessary to answer as many problems correctly as possible. Any calculator that does not need electricity for power is acceptable.

The test consists of 70 questions (7 pages, 10 questions per page) and lasts 30 minutes. The first 5 questions per page are the numeric problems. The next 3 questions are the word problems, and the last 2 are the geometry questions.

Any students interested in learning more about the competition or participating can come by my room, B10, and I'll get them any necessary information.
